What is dental insurance?

Dental insurances can be privately purchased though a major insurance carrier, or through your job and can sometimes include extended coverage to immediate family members. It is a major advantage to have dental insurance as it can reduce your out of pocket expenses tremendously.

What is a waiting period?

Waiting periods are sometimes a clause to a new insurance policy. This period can range from 6-12 months where you can get a major insurance fee discount, but the insurance will not pay any or some procedures until the period comes to end. Waiting periods often put patients on hold to get necessary immediate dental care, which can result in higher costs later or additional dental treatment. When selecting a dental insurance, remember to ask if you have a waiting period. If you recently purchased insurance & aren’t sure if you have a waiting period, contact us today & we will find out for you!

I do not have dental insurance but I’d like to have one. Which one do you recommend?

We understand the complexity involved in choosing an insurance plan that is right for you. We are happy to help you in the selection process to facilitate approval and make sure you are getting the best fitting insurance. We also offer our own in-house discount plan, Be-In-The-Bright, that offers discounted fees & complimentary dental visits/cleanings with your membership.

What is “BeInTheBright”?

Not everyone can afford a GOOD dental insurance. At Dental World, we are all about prevention and healthy gums/teeth! In order to help those without insurance, we have developed an in-house discount program, Be-In-The-Bright, that offers discounted fees and complimentary dental visits/cleanings (including a free whitening) with your membership. This program is a great way to maintain your healthy clean smile & have our services available to you at a discounted rate. Check out the “Be in the Bright”

PPO vs. HMO insurance

At Dental World, we care about every patient! Whether you have a PPO or an HMO, we’d like to help you get affordable, excellent dental care. We bill PPO’s in-house, and we provide our patients with the claims and documentation to bill their HMOs. HMO patients may also be eligible for additional discounts when they present a copy of their HMO card.

My PPO insurance is not listed on the website or the doctor does not show as an in-network provider.

No worries, here at Dental World, we want to ensure you are receiving the best dental care at an affordable rate. Contact us today with the details of your insurance and we’ll begin our in-network application. In the mean-time, we will gladly treat you as an in-network patient and all patient payments and services will be granted as in-network.

How long are New Patient Exams?

Comprehensive, thorough exams typically include a xrays, head and neck exam, an oral cancer screening, and a regular cleaning. If you filled out the new patient forms before-hand, the comprehensive exam will last approximately 1.5 hrs. However, if you have a tight schedule, let us know ahead of time and we can split the new patient exam into two appointments.

I have to drive to my appointment, where do I park?

Valet is located at 500 Brickell Ave, across from the East tower at an hourly rate. If the patient checks in to our office on social media, Dental World will cover 50% of the valet cost. Additionally, there is self-parking available in a parking garage on the North side of SE 5th ST and meter parking available on SE 6th St.

I need a second opinion from the doctor, what do I do?

We gladly provide patients with complimentary second opinions as it’s our goal that you know all your dental options. To provide you with an accurate diagnosis and suggested treatment plan, good quality dental X-rays are needed. When requesting a second opinion, please request the LATEST set of 3-yr X-rays and 6-month X-rays from your previous dentist. If more x-rays are necessary, they will be done as a courtesy in our office. Dentistry is never black and white and usually many treatment options are available to the patient. For this reason, Dr. Camacho always asks that you not tell the staff or the doctor what the previous diagnosis and treatment recommended was, so an objective diagnosis and treatment is given to the patient.

I cannot afford or understand my dental treatment, what do I do?

We understand that dental treatment can sometimes be pricey or initially seem to be out of your budget. Our team is here to work with you to make sure the health and beauty of your teeth are not only of the utmost quality but also affordable for you. If you ever have questions about the costs or financing of your dental treatments, call us to schedule a one-on-one discussion with Dr. Camacho to explore further alternatives, review dental priorities, and further discuss financing options. We are very proud of the honesty and excellence of our care to our patients and our team is here to help!
